Role overview

We are seeking a highly reliable and detail-oriented Data Center Facilities Specialist with a primary focus on janitorial responsibilities to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall maintenance of our data center facility. Your expertise in janitorial duties will contribute to the smooth operation and optimal performance of our data center environment.

This is an Entry Level role which will include additional training and experience. This knowledge can be used for growth and advancement within the Data Center environment. Great way to advance your career!

Responsibilities:

• Janitorial Duties: Perform a range of janitorial tasks to maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the data center facility, including but not limited to:
  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
  • Dusting surfaces, furniture, and equipment.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
  • Emptying trash cans and recycling bins regularly.
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the facility.
• Compliance with Cleaning Protocols: Adhere to established cleaning protocols and standards specific to data center facilities, ensuring strict compliance with security and contamination control measures.
• Facility Maintenance Support: Collaborate with the facilities team to support maintenance activities and promptly report any observed facility issues, such as leaks, damages, or equipment malfunctions.
• Safety and Security: Promote and maintain a safe working environment by following all safety guidelines, procedures, and protocols. Report any potential safety hazards or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of cleaning activities, supply inventory, and any incidents or observations. Submit regular reports as required.
• Equipment Care: Properly handle and maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring they are safe and efficient operation. Report any malfunctioning equipment for repair or replacement.
• Supplies Management: Monitor and maintain janitorial supplies, ensuring an adequate inventory of cleaning materials, chemicals, and personal protective equipment. Place supply orders as needed.
• Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and efficient workflow. Collaborate with the facilities team to address any facility-related needs or requests.
• Minor repair, painting, landscaping, etc.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a janitor or in a similar role, preferably in a data center or other critical facility environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of janitorial practices, cleaning techniques, and equipment operation preferred.
• Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and the ability to understand and follow instructions for handling and using cleaning chemicals safely. Knowledge of proper chemical storage and disposal procedures preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have the ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
• Familiarity with basic facility maintenance tasks and the ability to identify and report facility issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and email communication.

Pay Range: $34,500 - $51,750
