Job Description
The Financial Advisor manages client relationships, either working with a more experienced advisor or on their own. He or she formulates and implements advice but may also rely on technical specialists to develop product, investment or planning recommendations. He or she plans, develops, and implements effective marketing strategies and policies designed to attract and acquire new clients for the investment program; introduces new products to existing clients; expands business relationships and provides ongoing communication and service to clients; and develops a strong understanding of client objectives and assesses their business strategies and needs in relation to their objectives. The Financial Advisor engages in frequent travel as directed by the necessities of the job and represents D.L. Evans Bank at industry seminars and trade conventions as required.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- At least two years of financial industry experience, preferably investment experience, including product knowledge and sales skills, the ability to relate professionally to clients and colleagues.
- The following licenses are preferred: Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 and a life and health insurance license for the State of Idaho.
- Requires PC knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software applications
- Assists more senior financial advisors as a client relationship manager, which includes answering client questions about investment issues and updating CRM with all issues related to clients
- Solicits business from potential clients. Develops a clientele. Follows up on leads for D.L. Evans Bank
- Solicits referrals for investment products from all bank employees. Engages in individual and joint business calls and development activities. Works with loan officers, financial services representatives, branch managers and other business development officers to expand investment sales
- Researches and develops potential client lists using advertising campaigns, mailing lists, personal contacts Develops internal and external referral sources through participation in bank events, community activities, and participation in seminars and professional groups (CPA’s, attorneys)
- Follows the prescribed workflow process for planning or reporting activity in preparation for client meetings and reviews. Handles the Onboarding Checklist
- Performs Discovery Meeting prep – assists advisor in preparation for initial meeting for prospects
- Attends Discovery Meeting with advisor, takes notes to enter into CRM
- Performs Solutions Meeting prep – assists advisor in preparation for the solutions meeting. Researches products and prepares presentations.
- Assembles client paperwork including financial planning overview and fee information
- Performs Implementation Meeting prep – assists advisor in preparation for implementation meeting with client
- Activates client in financial planning software
- Preps for 45-day review
- Logs all activity in the CRM
- Runs Financial plans
- Runs Household Accounts Reports
- Runs asset allocation model review
- Within the confines of current licensing held, provides clients with information and advice on purchase and/or sale of investment products, financial services and investment plans
- Creates financial plan review with planning software for accounts under management
- Builds long-term financial advisory relationships with clients
- Reviews daily transactions in order to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, securities and exchange and brokerage firm requirements
- Periodically conducts a review of investment product and services offering to ensure client satisfaction. Conducts market research for related products offered by other financial institutions to ensure such products and services remain competitive. Communicates recommendations for changes to the Senior Financial Advisor
- Operates computer terminal or personal computer to determine balances, process account activity and resolve problems. Enters client call data for both prospective and existing clients into computer, using the CRM software in order to track progress
- Establishes and follows internal control procedures designed to control office errors and reduce client complaints
- Responsible for meeting sales volume and/or profitability goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls, number of new client relationships established, etc.
- Prepares activity reports for evaluation by management
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with clients
- Develops a strong understanding of client objectives and assesses their needs in relation to their objectives
- Ensures effective ongoing communication with clients to maintain high levels of client retention
- Seeks to resolve client concerns promptly and effectively
- Coordinates all client communications including training sessions
- Develops and conducts client seminars on new products and services in order to increase sales volume and establish good will
- Keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns
- Serves as a representative for D.L. Evans Bank in the community
- Promotes D.L. Evans Bank at all times
- Completes assigned documentation in an accurate and timely manner
