What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Weld Supervisor position at D.L. George & Sons?
DL George & Sons Manufacturing is hiring a weld supervisor for 3rd shift in our structural steel shop. The Supervisor will oversee tasks involving the manufacturing area, this includes inspecting employees' products and providing input and direction. The person in this position is also expected to monitor their area for safety and hazards, correcting them when found. Must be able to communicate effectively with new and existing customers.
Weld Supervisor Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be very well organized and excel at planning and executing the plan
- Has leadership qualities that allows employees to flourish
- Must be able to interpret drawings, ability to read and understand warning signs and labels in a manufacturing setting
- Capable of leading a team and have basic problem-solving, math skills and use precision measuring instruments
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, employees and managers
- Must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and balance
- Provides direction and instructions for employees, ensuring all have adequate work to meet due dates and deadlines
- Ability to complete required documentation, schedules and customer schedules
- Helps interpret drawings, written instructions and specifications
- Inspects finished pieces for proper specifications, tooling and completeness
- Ensures work areas are clean and clear
- Performs other work related duties incidental to the work described herein
- Meet D.L. George & Sons medical, drug and alcohol qualifications
- Ability to operate in a machine/fabrication shop environment up to 10 hours per day, 40-50 hours per week
- Majority of work requires standing or walking, bending, stooping and minimal climbing
- Handle material weighing up to 50 pounds with minimal assistance
