Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and guidelines
- Prepare meals and assist with meal planning based on dietary needs and preferences
- Engage individuals in social and recreational activities to promote socialization and community integration
- Drive individuals to appointments, outings, and community events
- Document and maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, and incidents
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure the well-being of individuals
- Follow HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of individuals' personal information
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role or field is preferred but not required
- Ability to lift heavy objects or individuals as needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to protocols for medication administration and other healthcare procedures
