Purpose / General Description:
Maintenance Helper is responsible assisting and supporting the work of the Maintenance Technician while learning to perform a variety preventative and corrective maintenance activities on equipment, machinery, facilities, and infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Maintenance Technician: Take direction, understand requirements, anticipate needs from the Maintenance Technician. Maintain tools and equipment, trucks, machinery necessary for performing tasks in a safe and productive manner. Perform basic PM activities under the supervision of a Maintenance Technician (such as lubrication and inspection).
- Maintain / clean work areas, tools, and equipment: Inspect, maintain, and clean tools and equipment, storage facilities and personnel facilities. Keep the work trucks clean.
- Maintain accurate and timely recordkeeping: Work orders, inspection logs, LOTO, confined space, etc….
- Be an effective team member: Always wear PPE and work safely, be an example of good behavior. Follow all work processes and policies. Work cooperatively with co-workers. Productively manage working hours, days and schedules to support maintenance operations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School / GED (Associates degree in a technical specialty is a plus)
- Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL license is a plus), and reliable transportation to work
- Use various software products (Preventative Maintenance software experience is a plus)
- Able to work at heights up to 80ft and in confined spaces as needed
- Able to lift (up to 75lbs.) and be physically fit to perform tasks and operate equipment
- Experience using and operating both power and hand tools
- Basic metal fabrication skills (welding, cutting, fitting, assembly, etc.) is a plus
- Work independently and diligently with minimal directions, to complete tasks on schedule
- Communicate well with team members and supervisor
- Apply creativity to solve problems and contribute to the success of the team

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
