Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure, the Systems Administrator’s primary duties include maintaining, monitoring, managing, and upgrading our software, hardware, and servers, including both physical and virtual systems. Position requires working as part of a team, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects.
Essential Job Functions:
- Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, and/or reconfigurations
- Document and maintain system configurations and architecture
- Monitoring software vulnerability assessments
- Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights in accordance with company policies and best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
- Manage and maintain company IT asset inventory.
- Troubleshoot problems individually and as a team
- Generate and maintain documentation
- Automation of redundant tasks to increase efficiency and reduce mistakes
- Contribute to our team’s productivity and strive to make things better for our team, users, and our customers
- Additional duties as required
Qualifications:
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of physical desktop and server hardware.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
- Experience working in Microsoft Active Directory and Azure
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of enterprise networking
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose, research and correct problems.
- Desire to create resilient sustainable solutions
- Experience understanding and applying industry best practices
- Able to anticipate common obstacles and develop plans to resolve them
- Creates actionable strategies
- Communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information to make decisions
- Balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly.
- Ability to move/handle equipment weighing approximately 40 lbs.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule; i.e., weekends or evening maintenance

Experience:
- BA Degree in technical related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in systems admin role
- Any technical certifications and/or technical training in personal computer hardware and/or software, servers, local and wide area networks, and/or communications highly desirable.
