Continuous Improvement Specialist Job Description Summary
The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining the Bill of Materials (BOM), Method of Manufacture (MOM), work instructions and related configuration management methods utilizing the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system as a member of the Change Implementation Team (CIT). Additional primary functions of the Continuous Improvement Specialist include tracking and implementing changes made to the definition of parts, assemblies, installations and processes. The position may also require redesigning an implementing change in build processes to streamline production. The Continuous Improvement Specialist works in close coordination with the other members of the CIT and representatives from Engineering, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Production Control and Manufacturing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Monitoring and facilitation of configuration management processes
- Development of desktop procedures related to new and/or revised CIT processes
- Review and provide feedback on engineering models, drawings and specifications in relationship to preferred manufacturing methods
- Evaluate the MOM and work instructions to ensure compliance to the design definition
- Provide support and troubleshooting of issues with the ERP system
- Enter and/or update parts data in the ERP system
- Create and/or update the MOM documentation
- Create and/or update manufacturing work instructions
- Create ERP system jobs to facilitate the creation of parts demand
- Create and maintain the BOM of each aircraft product within the ERP system
- Revaluation of processes and procedures for waste elimination.

Profile and other information related to the position
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- MS Office Suite proficiency required.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Desired Skills but not mandatory:
- Education in Lean Manufacturing
- Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree or classwork
- Experience with MRP/ERP programs
- Experience with CAD/solid modeling software.
- Experience with sheet metal/flat patterns
