Summary of duties:
- Interprets basic dimension specifications, simple prints and instructions to determine work to be done.
- Performs manual and repetitive assembly and sub-assembly functions including screwing, and bolting parts to shafts and dampers.
- Performs a limited amount of spot welding to attach steel metal parts and components together. Adjusts machine according to standard instructions and dresses and changes points to obtain quality welds.
- Sets up and operates a punch press to produce damper components to specified dimensions.
- Uses hand tools such as wrenches and screw drivers to complete assembly process.
- Rotates as needed to different stations on a manufacturing flow line.
- Measures work piece for conformance to specifications.
- Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
- Properly sorts and labels parts.
- Cleans machines, tooling, and parts.
- Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production.
- Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean work area.
- Follow and understand HOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements.
- Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to operate hand tools.
- Ability to read and understand written English.
