We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join our IT team which focuses on working with our internal customers at Daktronics. This team typically focuses on a variety of responsibilities in support of our project and IT agile development teams. This role utilizes business knowledge, communication skills, understanding of tools and technology along with analytical thinking and problem solving. This role requires proficiency in requirements analysis, solution design, data management and process improvement, coupled with the ability to collaborate successfully across various business and technology teams.
As a Business Analyst in our Information Technology team, you will be asked to:
- Deeply understand the capabilities, processes, needs, user feedback, and be able to work with the business partners and product owners to synthesize all of that into a prioritized set of user-centric functional and technical requirements.
- Capture, analyze, and document solution requirements. Facilitate user story creation and backlog grooming in an agile delivery environment.
- Ensure user stories have well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Analyze data and documents from enterprise applications to develop and document knowledge for sharing. Quickly convert data into a usable, organized, and understandable format to communicate analytical results.
- Develop an ongoing and sustainable relationship with business users.
- Actively engage in tier meetings and work closely with other BA roles to assist with leveraging knowledge used in this role.
- Work effectively within an Agile team, work with little supervision, and communicate effectively across the organization via verbal and written methods and formal metrics presentation.
Where will I be working?
Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a U.S. home or Daktronics location. This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates. Exact working hours are flexible, but this position will be based on working during regular business hours in the Central time zone.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required in a business or technical field. You will also need to demonstrate experience in the areas listed below:
- Good interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with stakeholders in various areas of the organization and both technical and non-technical partners to derive technical requirements and priorities.
- Strong desire to work with various types of people and have a passion for process improvement.
- Demonstrated process flow understanding and experience in root cause analysis, along with lean problem-solving tools.
- Ability to learn new software and techniques quickly and adapt to dynamic environments.
- Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload.
- A general understanding of databases, reporting, and project management tools.
- Have a natural curiosity, especially for business processes and technology.
- Strong organizational skills where you’ve managed multiple and changing priorities with accuracy.
- Participation in Agile/Scrum development team reviews and retrospectives.
- Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently or collaboratively on a team.
- Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to present ideas to a broad audience that can be easily understood.
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating collaboration with others and effective relationship development.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload.
