Plant Foreman

Responsibilities:

1. Follow all company safety policies and demonstrate exceptional safety practices and promote those safe habits in the other employees at the facility.

2. Demonstrate an honest desire, on his/her own initiative, to produce a quality product, meeting all the expectations of customers and management.

3. Strive to motivate the team of employees to maximize productivity. Holds employees responsible to comply with corporate employment expectations.

4. Must maintain a professional attitude toward fellow workers, supervisors, inspectors, etc.

5. Must be able to communicate effectively with all employees on site to achieve goals.

6. Must immediately notify their supervisor if they are aware of any problems at the plant, safety related or otherwise detrimental to the company.

7. Maintain their facilities through regular inspection, routine maintenance and proper preventative maintenance practices including:

a. Frequent and regular inspections.

b. Lubricating equipment.

c. Checking alignments.

d. Parts organization.

e. Housekeeping and cleanup.

8. Attend all necessary MSHA training.

9. Is able to accompany an MSHA inspector during a visit if the Plant Superintendent is not available.

Requirements:

1. Has the ability to lead a small crew of employees to achieve goals set by management and/or supervision.

2. Must have a solid understanding of MSHA standards and standard practices of mining industry.

3. Must maintain a positive attitude toward fellow workers, supervisors, inspectors etc.

4. Is able to stay calm and focused on the work at hand, and must be able to prioritize work tasks if problems arise.

5. Possess the ability to solve problems safely, efficiently, and logically without reliance on other employees.

6. Understands the importance of productivity at their facilities and is committed to working with the site management to meet all productivity goals.

7. Have a functional understanding of the following systems and/or trades such that he can perform work and/or communicate effectively with subcontracted tradespeople:

a. Plumbing

b. Electrical

c. Welding

d. Hydraulics

e. Pneumatics

8. Understands that it is sometimes necessary to work long hours, weekends, and nights to complete tasks set forth by management.

9. Must be physically fit, capable of working for prolonged periods, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.

10. Prefer at least 5 years’ experience in the mining industry.

11. Knowledge and experience in welding and fabrication is preferred.

12. Understanding of crane work, rigging, signaling, and safety aspects associated with lifting operations.

13. Understand the layout, function and mechanical systems associated with gravel, dredging and blacktop plants.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
