Position Purpose: An effective Account Manager genuinely loves dealing with people, has a passionate interest in sales work, a sincere desire to identify and exceed customer expectations, and a clear focus on customer satisfaction. Account Managers have a desire to service those customers that require a high volume of business in a strictly tight timeline. Account Managers work with customers to ensure that customers businesses’ can increase their profitability through actions taken by the Account Team to reduce costs and guarantee timeliness of job completions. As a team leader they are responsible for the performance of the team members and ultimately determines the direction of the team on a day to day basis
Principle Accountabilities (minimum of 4 – 7):
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Adhere to the guidelines and expectations set forth in the DCO’s Employee Handbook
1. Act as Liaison to Customer as central point of contact for company.
2. Act as “Chief Problem Solver” for customers. Oversee & follow up on Service Calls & Change Orders
3. Create & update all templates. Produce selection sheets & detailed drawings, including product locations and layouts.
4. Coordinate all activities related to the accounts assigned.
5. Ascertain customer needs and desires.
6. Gain and maintain knowledge of products, current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment, credit, returns, exchanges, refunds and security practices
7. Describe and demonstrate merchandise to customers, by explaining qualities, features, benefits, use, proper care and/or maintenance for best “life of product”
8. Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise, based on customer needs and desires.
9. Estimate quantity and cost of merchandise required, and compute sales prices, total purchases and receive and process cash or credit payment using RFMS software.
10. Arrange for delivery, installation, financing, or service contracts, according to company policies and procedures
11. Maintain digital records for all accounts.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum Associates Degree, bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Successful Account Managers exhibit the following skills:
1. Prior experience in a customer direct position.
2. Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time.
3. Excellent phone, written and verbal communication skills.
4. Computer skills and prior experience in learning proprietary software.
5. Ability to read blueprints
6. Minimum 3 years’ experience in Sales or comparable Account Management position
