Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for general management and P&L of service product lines within a matrix organization. The role will focus on maximizing service growth through development and maintenance of Global Service commercial Standard Work. The role will also ensure operational excellence, driving consistent process and procedures, and fulfill the vision of the global product delivery organization.
In addition, this position is responsible for the generation of customer insights and transforming those insights into valuable and innovative service offerings. This position will lead the creation of new service offerings in a structured manner from opportunity identification, through value prop creation and validation of all elements of a new service offering culminating in their successful generation of revenue and profit.
As the voice of the Global Service organization you will manage cross-departmental needs including acting as the liaison between Sales and Marketing, IT, Global Client Engagement, Human Resources, Finance, and Legal departments, and ensure alignment & integration, manage deliverables and facilitate effective communications.
Responsibilities include:
Global Sales and P&L Ownership
- Drive sales growth in VJ’s service businesses through the various regional and country leaders; owns the sales growth and P&L for their products.
- In conjunction with the regions, designs, implements and manages service delivery organization’s business plan, execution strategy and budget.
- Drive process, procedure, and systems scalability and consistency across all Service Delivery organizations.
Product Lifecycle Management
- Gather input from a variety of sources (VOC, VOS, reports, etc) for new product concepts
- In conjunction with regional leaders and service operation managers, develop new service offerings designed to grow Videojet’s share of wallet and aid in legacy competitive displacement.
- Develop and execute global launch plans for new service products and offerings
Global Service Strategy Plan
- Develop service product line strategy plan: 1 to 3-year vision, commercial focus and complements Videojet’s overall strategy plan and product planning
- Support annual VJ strategy plan by assisting with market sizing and segmentation
- Transform VJ from a company that thinks about attaching service to capital equipment, to one that thinks about service as a competitive differentiator and holistic part of the offering.
Market & Competitive Assessment
- Get to Gemba to really understand customer, competitor and market dynamics
- In depth understanding of competitors, their products, and their strategies with an eye to understand their full positioning and plans of attack
- Drive actionable commercial responses to competitive moves
Sales Support and Training
- Develop comprehensive materials and tools to help sales win opportunities. These include fight sheets, value selling documents, ROI/TCO tools, solution guides, etc.
- Assist with opportunities with site visits, tailored materials, etc. as needed
- With Marketing, review/approve marketing materials, develop target customer segments and develop appropriate demand generation campaigns
- Assist the Vertical team in generating content and messaging for target verticals
Price
- Support teams in managing price globally and help regions execute locally
- Assist regions with root cause and counter measures on price misses
Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following experiences, characteristics, and competencies:
- Master’s in Business Administration (ideally with a concentration in general management)
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive management experience in a commercial environment, including a minimum of 2 years of experience in a product or marketing management role.
- Experience in creating and implementing new processes or improving existing processes
- Detailed understanding of financial planning and budget management, support and development processes, operational reporting.
- Authoring Skills – Able to articulate and document the customers’ market problem in a manner that encapsulates knowledge and represents a true understanding of the market and its needs.
- Interpersonal Skills – Able to partner with teams across the organization and provide influence to achieve business results across multiple teams who may have different goals.
- International Skills – Able to understand, recognize and work within a multicultural and international environment.
- Methodological Skills – Able to assess a situation, seek multiple perspectives, and then identify, scrutinize and streamline complex work processes.
- Research Skills – Able to perform market research, market analysis, and competitive intelligence studies.
- Travel – Ability to travel 30% nationally and internationally
- Highly computer literate (especially in Excel and Powerpoint)
