Job Description
The Materials Planning Analyst reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager. Primary function is to plan and allocate materials in a continuous improvement culture to provide timely delivery to customers with minimal inventory investment. This includes timely release requirements against customer orders to support manufacturing requirements and coordinating interface with suppliers on delivery. This role also analyzes large sets of data with the objective of providing timely and accurate feedback to customers, operations and leadership. Actively support and strive to meet the strategic goals set by yourself, the facility and Danfoss. Relocation is assistance can be offered for this role.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Timely planning and execution of work orders to support daily operations, including reviewing work order material shortages and executing timely delivery of raw materials for production including prompt and proper actions to MRP planner messages.
- Determines order points, appropriate order quantities, safety stock and related inventory controls; evaluates deviations from normal guidelines on assigned parts by recommending alternative actions to be employed in the event of failure to meet production schedules.
- Support daily production and communication meetings; inform supervisor and shop floor of material shortages that adversely affect the production plan and schedules.
- Support data analytics regarding translating large, complex data sets into easily understood summaries to be used for presenting to senior leadership and customers.
- Lead materials projects that will improve visibility of drivers to eliminate roadblocks to achieving plant performance goals.
- Ability to leverage strong MS Excel skills to highlight areas of focus that will drive process improvements.
- Ensure that material and capacity are planned correctly, researching present and potential material shortages and incorporating corrective actions.
- Identify and execute opportunities to increase On-Time Delivery while decreasing inventory investment.
- Participate in identifying, communicating, and resolving supplier problems through the development and maintenance of ethical supplier relationships that foster a desire to furnish new ideas and promote cooperation with Eaton on an on-going basis.
- Maintain and project inventory positions that satisfy asset management goals and minimize risk of product obsolescence.
- Support Part Activation activities and Change Management policies as needed including Engineering Change Notices (ECN) execution including implementing changes to computer records and evaluating changes in inventory and customer requirements influenced by the ECN.

Required (basic) qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Manufacturing Related Field and three (3) years’ experience in a related role OR
- High School Diploma and ten (10) years’ experience in a directly related role.
Preferred qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in a production planning role
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- SQL Query Language and VB.net coding
