Edelman's NY office is seeking an Assistant Account Executive to join our growing Healthcare team! Health-related PR experience preferred.
Edelman’s Health Sector team provides a wide array of communications services to a diversified portfolio of healthcare clients including major pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and providers, health insurers, associations, life sciences companies, government, and public health organizations. By employing innovative and thoughtful strategies, the Health Sector team develops integrated corporate reputation, public affairs, advocacy, and brand campaigns that help our clients promote their brands and policy positions, protect their reputations and license to operate, and influence public perceptions and policy outcomes.
The Assistant Account Executive will have the ability to learn and deploy a wide variety of communications skills to a single, but diversified, industry that is of fundamental importance to individuals, governments, and society at large. Furthermore, employees will hone their communication skills alongside colleagues who have deep expertise at the intersection of healthcare and public relations.
\n- Support account teams in daily activities – learn Edelman’s various consulting processes/approaches, including integrated communications, media relations, consumer engagement, trend monitoring, brand collaborations, social media, and digital campaigns, and support account teams in the execution of these processes for clients
- Understand key client information including business strategy, products and services, key customers, and competitors
- Research, outline, write, edit, and proofread materials, specifically pitches, product key messages, fact sheets, talk tracks, media briefing documents, and more
- Assist with research including industry trends and competitor innovations
- Provide client service administration including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling media monitoring reports and competitor coverage, scheduling, and logistics
- Assist with vendor management for brand initiatives including not limited to influencer partnerships, events, and activations
- Demonstrate a general knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, etc.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the social media industry, influencer marketing, and basic principles of community engagement
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
- At least 6 months of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media, and publishing
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of account service staff within a specific set of accounts.
- Prior internship experience preferred.
- Strong research, writing, and editing skills and the ability to develop media contacts/relationships.
- Solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals
- Strong work ethic and dedication to consistently provide quality work to their team and clients
