What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager position at Dano Services?
The Custodial manager will be responsible for managing the cleaning team assigned to Samuels and Son warehouse and office building.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Responsible for the overall management of all cleaning functions in the venue to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly experience for guests, customers, and workers.
- Ensure that the facility is cleaned correctly and according to HACCP requirements.
- Regularly inspect he facility to determine any unusual or recurring work that needs to be done, such as periodically stripping floor wax, cleaning overhead light fixtures or shampooing carpets, and maintain a checklist of everyday cleaning tasks.
- Allocate chores to cleaning staff and inspect work afterwards to ensure it is performed to meet standards.
- Conduct interviews, make selection, train, supervise, guide, and discipline cleaning service staff to guarantee maximum customer satisfaction.
- Direct and scheduling staff in their work assignments.
- Carry out pre-event inspections of all assigned areas before official opening to ensure cleanliness of areas.
- Maintain enough supplies and inventory of cleaning products by making reorders when necessary.
- They also advise and support staff on site as regards H&S issues as they perform their jobs at the assigned work site.
- Maintain master schedule to ensure that all employees are on the schedule and enough staff is on to cover the needs of the business.
- Assist in the development and execution of plant-maintenance, vision and mission to assure continuous improvement and alignment with the corporate vision.
- Direct hourly cleaning associates in their roles and responsibilities.
- Effectively communicate results and action plans to appropriate employees and managers. Possess a sense of urgency and ownership.
- Ability to respond with flexibility and efficiency to frequent changes in task focus, completing priorities and multiple deadlines.
Work Environment:
Cold, wet, frozen environment. Warehouse distribution center maintained at 37 to below freezing temperatures to maintain proper storage of product (fresh and frozen seafood and other related food stuff). Office environment and Facility Grounds.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years previous warehouse facility maintenance leadership experience preferred
- Forklift Certification/Experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Attention to detail
- Good communication skills a must.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
