What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at Darigold Brand?
Darigold is seeking a Cost Accountant to be a part of the cost accounting and operations finance team reporting to the Leader of Cost Accounting. The Cost Accountant is responsible for item set-ups including raw material and finished good costing, maintenance of monthly standard costs for all plants as well as assigned monthly close functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. Additionally, this role will support process improvement initiatives within the Cost Accounting Team.
What You Will Do
- Bill of material maintenance and analysis
- Manage new item setup and item maintenance
- Update and communicate standard cost changes on a regular
- Complete monthly cost accounting journal entries as
- Work closely with the Cost Accounting Team, Corporate Accounting Team, Operational Finance Teams, and Leader of Operational Accounting during month end close to identify and explain variances as needed.
- Understand each production plant process and plant finance team reporting to be a backup to plant finance teams as necessary.
- Partner with the plant finance teams to understand their plant operations as it relates to Cost Accounting tasks.
- Participate in the budgeting
- Develop new reporting and journal entries as
- Financial analysis as needed to support Costing related
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- 1-2 years cost accounting or equivalent experience
- Manufacturing or Dairy industry experience
Nice to Have’s
- Intermediate excel proficiency (creation of pivot tables, look up functions, troubleshoot formula errors)
- Possess a high level of initiative and
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision in all tasks
- Excellent ability to organize information, manages tasks and projects, and use available tools to effectively contribute to the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication Conveys information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents.
- Ability to work well with others in a team
- Must be able to work on projects with minimal
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Willing to work occasional evenings/weekend-day/holidays to meet accounting
- Ability to travel up to 30%

- Annual compensation range: $66,638.00-$99,957.00 (individual wage based on previous experience, knowledge, and skills)
