Day-to-Day Role:
- Review and maintain schedules in assigned work centers and perform capacity assessments in order to optimize utilization in support of the manufacture of production machines
- Perform detailed capacity assessments that identify gaps and create plans to optimize utilization.
- Prepare and maintain detailed production schedules coordinated with manufacturing, engineering and production planning to facilitate total customer satisfaction.
- Request and track the status of materials and components required to produce production machines
- Create and analyze spreadsheets, charts, graphs and reports relating to backorders, inventory, fill rates and other critical business issues
- Use systems knowledge to recommend new procedures to enhance the performance of the planning and scheduling system
- Execute all MRP functions
- Establish, enhance and follow specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of the business
- Evaluate labor and make recommendations for projected labor needed to meet plan production goals
- Assist in the training of planning and clerical staff
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
- Requires one of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field, OR
- Associates degree in Business Management, or related field, and four (4) years' of previous work experience involving production planning and/or inventory management in a manufacturing setting, OR
- Eight (8) years' of work experience involving production planning and/or inventory management in a manufacturing setting
- Effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
- Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
- Understanding of ERP functionality
- Ability to identify issues, compare data, investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
