Our Payroll Technicians work to ensure that data is correct within the system and entered timely, payroll processing schedules are met, tax remittances occur as desired and also serve as a point of contact for pay inquires and resolution assistance. Core Skills and Qualifications
The ideal Payroll Technician candidate must possess:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six (6) months of related payroll experience with basic understanding of payroll principles
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel
- SAP Payroll or related business system knowledge
- Ability to become proficient with using in-house payroll information systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to calculate, analyze, and interpret mathematical information such as percent differences, ratios, median, mean, weighted average, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
- Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, human resources, information technology or related field of study
- SAP Payroll experience
- Advanced payroll knowledge or experience
- Ability to apply accounting principles
- Experience with multi-state payroll
- Experience with time and attendance systems
- Experience with in-house payroll processing
