Position Purpose
The Program Manager plans, executes, and manages the Magnuson Center DEV Studio, including the physical space, programs and projects for students, faculty, co-curricular workshops, and curricular integrations. Provides general mentorship and support to maximize learning and achievement potential by acting as an easily approachable, experienced, and versatile guide through all aspects of the design, prototyping, and production process.

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience

- 2-3 years equivalent in software design, or related field.
- Motivated individual with a passion for making and building, technology, entrepreneurship/ startups, innovation, digital arts, and social impact.
- Ability to actively inspire and promote an accessible, creative, and supportive culture for students.
- Significant experience with educational program development and event planning.
- Experience in a teaching role using best instructional design practices.
- Ability to control the room and hear and be heard over the commotion of a busy space.
- Self-starter – ability to work independently, taking initiative to advance projects and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
- Exceptional communication and collaborative skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, focuses on impact, and result and responds positively to feedback.
- Student or staff supervision and workplace leadership skills.
- A portfolio of products and projects demonstrating breadth of creative and/or teaching projects.
- Successful track record managing interdisciplinary teams in creating digital products.
- Agility to configure and move around equipment.
- Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities.
- Ability to prepare reports and presentations with excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness and availability for evening, weekend events and for travel as scheduled in advance.
- Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Preference for experience with SolidWorks, Rhino, Maya, Adobe Suite, and Figma.
- A desire and agility for learning new techniques.
- Interactive digital electronics experience with Arduino, Raspberry PI, etc.
- Current familiarity with technology in and operation of Dartmouth’s DEV Studio.
