We are currently seeking qualified candidates for our Jr. Purchasing Agent.
Responsibilities
In keeping with the Davidson Homes mission of providing the best home buyer experience, the Purchasing role is responsible for generating purchase orders in addition to researching, verifying, and amending invoices received from the Accounting Department. They will also be responsible for researching and responding to inquiries from onsite agents, trade partners, employees, and suppliers.
- Analyze and review homeowner documentation for accuracy, pricing, and proper costing in Newstar ERP system.
- Review and facilitate the flow of information between the Design Center, Construction Team, Trade Partners and Internal/External associates via BuildPro/SupplyPro and other methods as needed.
- Generate home construction budgets and purchase orders.
- Process change orders, as necessary.
- Research and clarify purchase order discrepancies through various means of communication.
- Research and respond to inquiries from Construction Team, Trade Partners, and any other Internal/External associates.
- Analyze and provide reports on budget performance and other purchasing related topics.
- Assist is estimating material and labor costs.
- Assist in keeping updated, current pricing in NewStar for parts, bid rates, model subcontracts, etc.
- Assemble Cost Comparisons to best identify cost savings.
- Assist in reviewing invoices and processing them for payment.
- Redlining & Plan request process.
- Assist in Pre- construction Permitting process when necessary.
- Assist with the Trade Partner bid solicitation, coordination, analysis, and loading of pricing information necessary for construction budgets.
- Provide analysis on data including but not limited to option take rates, plan frequency, and margin projections.
- Process change of vendors when necessary.
- Create, distribute, and track Trade Partner price schedules.
- Track and report insurance, rebate/incentive, and Master Trade Partner agreement compliance
- Perform other duties as required to support the purchasing department.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant job experience required.
- A working knowledge of residential construction
- Strong data management/analysis preferred.
- Previous experience in a construction or procurement preferred.
- Consistent attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Computer literacy with experience with MS Office applications, especially MS Excel
- Experience with an ERP-type software (i.e., Newstar Enterprise, Build Pro)
- Ability to do numerical analysis and prior work experience in performing such tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
