The cottage-style hotel, restaurant, spa and event venue offer an authentic, historic, and unique Sonoma wine country escape among 22 acres of ancient giant redwoods, native meadows, and vintage apple trees.


About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Group Sales Manager to join our team, focusing on the corporate group market with a primary emphasis on closing corporate retreats and events. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in luxury resort sales, hospitality, or hotel sales, with a passion for exceeding customer expectations and driving revenue growth.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Engage with pre-qualified corporate group sales inquiries to cultivate new opportunities while nurturing ongoing relationships with existing and former corporate clients, aiming to foster both repeat and prospective corporate group business growth.
  • Efficiently respond to prospective clients, ensuring a consistent flow of leads to meet and surpass sales objectives.
  • Expedite prospects through the sales cycle by delivering exceptional sales and customer service experiences.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in sales and client databases.
  • Stay abreast of recent market trends and developments through participation in local and industry meetings.
  • Field questions, provide detailed information about our services, and schedule virtual and in-person meetings with clients as needed.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for corporate retreats and events, leveraging expertise in luxury resort sales, hospitality, and hotel sales.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to drive sales and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to attract and secure a diverse range of corporate events.
  • Coordinate with clients to book guest rooms, resort meeting and event spaces, and upsell food & beverage offerings.
  • Work in an open environment, staying focused amidst distractions, and collaborate effectively with a diverse team of onsite event sales and remote Sales Managers.


Competencies:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under little or no supervision. Must possess proven interpersonal skills including influencing and negotiation skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate solid time management and organizational skills. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and possess a clean DMV license.

Details of the Role:

  • Focus driving pre-qualified corporate group business to the hotel.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets through proactive business development.
  • Travel as required to attend and/or represent Dawn Ranch at trade shows, aimed at bolstering sales initiatives, enhancing brand visibility, and fostering business expansion.
  • Identify key decision makers within target companies, and effectively close new business to further enhance hotel’s market presence.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients and establish new accounts.

Technical Skills:

  • Possess a proficient understanding and ability to use Microsoft Office 365 for effective communication and documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales reports and maintain accurate customer data to drive future sales strategies using the provided sales systems.
  • Knowledge of Event Temple CRM a plus but not required.

Other Essential Duties & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use repetitive hand and body motions such as grasping, writing, typing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Role may require the ability to drive a motor vehicle, stand, walk, sit, talk, talk on a telephone or mobile device, carry a laptop (including while traveling), use a computer for a significant amount of time each day, to hear, and to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs. at a time.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or driving in a vehicle.

Qualifications

Required Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:

  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proven track record in hotel sales, with a strong emphasis on generating new business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with adept presentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with the corporate environment and ability to identify key decision-makers.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to navigate and adopt general computer knowledge, with relevant tools and platforms.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • At least 5 years of related experience required.
