This position would oversee the daily operations; as well as provide strategic direction. You will plan and supervise the activities of your workforce to ensure the smooth and profitable running of business. It is the General Manager's responsibility to be involved in all aspects of the hotel operations. You will be the key person of reference for owners, Wyndham management team, employees, guest, and external vendors. This position would guide the employees to work as a well-functioning team.
The ideal candidate will be a team player and an effective leader, able to set examples and foster a climate of cooperation. The goal is to enhance customer dedication and expand our clientele by strengthening our hotel’s reputation.
Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Training is required for all areas of the hotel
- Complete training as required by brand standards.
- Hire a solid team
- Increase guest satisfaction scores and reviews
- Plan activities and allocate responsibilities to achieve the most efficient team
- Communicate with guest when appropriate (Respond to guest concerns, create a welcoming environment for our guest, find solutions to problems, offer information etc.)
- Handle maintenance issues, shortages in staff, renovations etc.
- Fill out HelloGm reporting
- Collaborate with external parties such as suppliers, travel agencies, event/group planners, managers, and owners
- Inspect facility, including interior and exterior of property, daily. Fix issues and report required issues to owners
- This position does require you to be on call
- As the General Manger you would be responsible for getting shifts covered. During the slow season, a minimum of 3 front desk shifts per week would be required. Would be responsible to cover shifts if someone call-ins or if there are gaps in the scheduled. Review daily reports to ensure appropriate coverage is scheduled
- Payroll
- Reconciliation of OTA
- Report monthly numbers
- Handle Accounts receivables
- Review Hotel Ledger and address balances
- Work with maintenance, housekeeping and owners to get all rooms back in inventory
- This position is responsible for the property and the team
