About The Firm
As a real estate analyst, you will assist and report directly to managers in the finance/accounting division, fulfilling all duties requested but not limited to the list below. This private equity real estate firm acquires, owns and operates multifamily apartment complexes with plans and funding commitments for immediate growth. The ability to quickly learn is a requirement for the newly hired individual and thus, must be accustomed to a fast-paced work environment. The firm, through its unrelated limited partnerships, owns a portfolio in excess of 4,000 multifamily units. Coinciding with the firm’s growth plans is the ability for upward mobility in not only the firm but the private equity real estate sector in general.
Hours of operation: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 40 hours a week. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare/analyze monthly operating statements and identify budget variances
- Prepare and run financial models for target acquisitions, focused on the multifamily real estate sector
- Provide quarterly/monthly financial summaries to the executive committee
- Prepare/Analyze various rental software reporting for 4,000 unit portfolios, including rent rolls, credit detail, balance due, etc.
- Assist with accounts payable functions regarding processing and coding invoices
- Analyze property-level accounting entries in rental software tenant ledger accounts, providing general oversight and necessary adjustments to property manager financial related activity
- Assist in the month-end process of closing the accounting period
- Cross-reference weekly financial reports, provided by property managers, with rental software actuals
- Prepare quarterly portfolio-wide reimbursement submittals to lender
- Data entry
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Degrees concentrated in finance, accounting, or other quantitative/IT business degrees are required. Minimum 3.25 GPA
- Strong attention to detail and analytical competence required
- Real estate accounting/finance experience with rental software preferred but not required
- Rent Manager or other rental software experience preferred but not required
- Acquisition underwriting experience preferred but not required
