Landscape Installation Foreman

Colonial Gardens, located in Blue Springs, MO, was added to our brand family in 2016. Founded in 1969, renovations began in 2017 to create an agritourism destination. It is the garden center, reimagined! We offer a greenhouse, nursery, café and coffee shop, event space, and farmer’s market. It’s where plants, food and farms connect. Educational classes promoting local agriculture and sustainability as well as private events are also offered.

We are searching for a Landscape Installation Foreman to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership – Lead, manage, and hold accountable the team by providing quality leadership that creates a culture of accountability, execution, and growth and oversee transactions involving installations, bids, designs, deliveries, and execution.
• Management – Manage job estimation, job completion and Job profitability with resources and tools needed to complete tasks and projects in a timely manner.
• Customer Experience – Ensure a world Class service model is executed with our clients and customers, and convey our why with purpose, passion and cause.
• Execution - Execute Services department work in a timely fashion that is representative of DCA outdoor and Colonial Gardens and oversee execution of landscaping maintenance and projects at Colonial Gardens.

Essential Job Duties:

• Direct teams to multiple, different, and complex tasks, scheduling crews for maximum efficiency.
• Ensuring correct materials are on the job site
• Responsible for all client communication after contract is signed. Standard is 24-hour response time for customer calls and emails.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order, procured and readily available
  • Inventory of assets for worksites every quarter
  • Ensure crews adhere to safety standards, ensure a safe work environment
• Maintaining project records
• Hire, evaluate and train staff, maintain staffing plan to workload
• Written and verbal communication between staff and Services Manager as well as foremen and designers.
• Advise and assist designers by adding labor hours and hardscapes materials to estimates
• Responsible for working with customers for replacements

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Being relevant with design and installation trends and technology, demonstrate desire to learn
• Develop cost accounting methods for jobsites
• Discuss onsite jobs with clients as well as crew members to deliver job to customer expectation on budget
• Visit jobsites to ensure accuracy with customer for aesthetic of design, within scope of the project. Provide punch list as needed for project completion.
• Resolve problems on the field during installation
• Excellent attendance and punctuality – expected to be in before crews every day with work orders prepared in advance
• Plan conference and workshop attendance for crews
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of irrigation, nursery installation
• Ability to drive a vehicle legally
• Proficient in computer systems such as Microsoft Suites, QuickBooks, counterpoint, Manage 360, and other software
• Professional communication skills
• Attention to detail, problem solving in a time efficient manner

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in agriculture, ornamental Horticulture or Landscape construction
• 5-10 years in landscape installation
• 3-5 years in management or supervisory experience
• Trade certification
