What are the responsibilities and job description for the CPA Parent Support Specialist position at DCCCA?
Full-Time
Position Overview:
- Provides crisis/on call services and 24 hour, 7 days a week support to assigned foster families
- Attends home visits with CPA Specialists for assigned foster families
- Assists CPA Specialist with documentation
- Assists CPA Specialist with matching children and foster homes
- Assists foster parents in accessing resources throughout the community to meet foster child needs
- Requires daily communication with CPA Specialists
- Understands and follows DCF licensing regulations
- Monitor and responds timely and appropriately to emails and phone calls
- Uploads and enters confidential information accurately into electronic health record system
- Submits incident reports when appropriate
- Provides foster parents in Trauma-Informed for Permanency and Safety-Deciding Together (TIPS-DT) training
- Maintains good working relationships and facilitates communication with foster families and CPA Specialists
- Maintains regular contact with supervisor and CPA Specialists
- Requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Job may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the day including early morning or evening hours
Requirements Include:
- Requires high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Requires at least two years of child welfare and/or family services experience
- A detailed understanding of foster care preferred
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must pass pre-employment background checks, fingerprinting, reference checks and drug screening
