Diving Equipment Company of America, or DECA, has been offering diving products and services on a worldwide basis since 1989. We specialize in all aspects of sales and service in surface supplied diving equipment and scuba equipment for the commercial, military, scientific, search/rescue/recovery and technical diving markets.
Job Summary:
Assists in sales of DECA merchandise and other related duties.

Responsibilities:
- Sales Associate sells DECA merchandise and reports to Manager.
- Responsible to maintain outstanding customer service as per Company standards while generating sales.
- Excellent phone sales and face-to-face in store sales providing outstanding service to all customers.
- Generate interested buyers and purchasing agents in DECA merchandise.
- Address clients’ concerns with Managers input.
- Maintain solid product knowledge of commercial and scuba sales.
Skill/Requirements:
- Assists in developing annual business plan that details activities to follow during the fiscal year.
- Must meet or exceed sales quota specified by Manager.
- Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models.
- Ability to carry on a business conversation with customers, manager and owner.
- Coordinate with Manager in the process of closing a complicated sale.
- Participate in regular inventory and cycle counts.
- Responsible for maintaining and developing client relationships/referrals.
- Ability to complete a sale through purchase orders generated by Sage 50.
- Must be able to reconcile cash, check and credit cards sales upon closing.
- Ability to handle returns or merchandise with ease.

Compensation:
- $20.00-$21.00 to start with a performance review in 6 months.
Conditions of Employment:
- Assessment tests, including a job knowledge test.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment background check.
Hours of work:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with 30-minute lunch break
