Field Scout - Seasonal
The Field Scout is a seasonal position that is responsible for conducting accurate and effective field observations of assigned customer fields, evaluating plant health and nutrition and reporting back to DPG Crop Consultants and Grower Advisors on a daily basis in a written report for each field with photos and details of the field observation. This position works closely with our Grower Relations team to support our customers’ needs. If you’re a college student majoring in an Agriculture based program, this is a great opportunity for you!
- Conduct thorough field observations, providing excellent written reports to DPG Crop Consultants and Grower Advisors.
- Build effective relationships with customers and DPG staff.
- Assist with gathering plant tissue, water and soil samples from customer ranches as needed.
- Meet company deadlines and expectations on field observations and reports.
- Provide additional grower support with other duties as assigned.
- Effectively utilize Agrian software to log photos, notes and maps of customer fields.
What you will need:
- High School diploma with some college coursework in an Agriculture based program.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended time periods, walking fields at customer sites, in all weather conditions.
- Detail oriented approach for field observations and reports.
- Excellent time management skills and self-motivated approach to work.
- Fit into a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial culture that requires collaborative teamwork.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Proficiency in computer processing functions and other standard office equipment.
- Excellent Microsoft office skills, especially Excel and Word.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Read, comprehend reports and analyze data and explain clearly and concisely to others.
- Ability to calmly and professionally resolve issues with diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills.
