JOB SUMMARY:
Under the immediate direction of the Nurse Manager/ CNO, this position is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for directing, coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure: Current Indiana RN license or compact license.
Experience: Preferred minimum of one year hospital experience
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
Registration/Certification: Must obtain and maintain AED/Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 90 days of hire. ACLS optional.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.
Demonstrates strong working knowledge of interdisciplinary planning, as well as nursing practice procedures, equipment utilized and applicable regulations.
Requires general working knowledge of normal growth, development, related behaviors, needs, comfort, and range of treatment appropriate to the age (including adolescent, adult and geriatric) and diagnosis of patients served to support the provision of an individualized interdisciplinary plan of care.
Requires strong analytical and organizational skills necessary to assess, develop and implement individualized plans of patient care/education in changing patient situations through the recognition of actual and potential problems, patient/family involvement, and the collection of data related to department nursing care concerns.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written in order to establish and maintain positive therapeutic/working relationships with all internal and external customers, as needed.
