What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Surgical/Telemetry position at Default Brand?
We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Surgical/Telemetry team on the Day Shift in a fulltime position!
Our Medical/Surgical Unit is a 36 bed unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care to treat patients with a variety of general and specialized surgical procedures, including orthopedic, bariatric, urology, and cardiac. General medical population to include respiratory, endocrine, nephrology, neurology, cardiology and wound care.
Job Duties:
- Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care
- Assists physicians during examinations and procedures
- Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
- Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
- Relies on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks and accomplish goals
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care hospital Med/Surg unit preferred
- Orthopedics experience highly desired
- Telemetry experience preferred
