Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing and organizing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and gather case-related information.
- Coordinate and manage case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Draft and proofread legal documents and correspondence.
- Prepare for depositions, hearings, trials, and client meetings.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and other parties involved in the case.
- Manage attorney calendars, scheduling depositions, hearings, and meetings.
- File legal documents with the court and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits and other materials.
- Paralegals are expected to have 120 billable hours per month
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in insurance defense or civil litigation.
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
