What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pick Up Driver - Elgin , IL position at Dejana Industries Inc?
Position Purpose: The Pickup Drive’s responsibility is to perform tasks that involve final removal of all hazardous conditions on the parking surfaces due to snow and ice.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses proper plowing and salting techniques based on conditions.
- Reports accurate # of times sites are serviced.
- Clocks in/out using provided GPS device at start and end of shift.
- Completes Pre/post trip inspections.
- Reports breakdowns to BMT.
- Clocks in/out using provided time keeping app at start and end of shift.
- Follows correct and timely post-accident reporting and testing procedures.
- All other duties as assigned
Education, Requirements and/or Professional Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Acceptable driving record.
- The ability pass a background check.
- The ability to pass a drug test.
- The ability to pass DOT physical.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 1 year of truck driving experience.
- Knowledge of equipment operation.
- On-Call daily availability from October 15th to April 15th.
- Must have a smart phone that can download timekeeping application.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift, grasp, carry, push, and pull for long period of time.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds plus.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The ability to work under strenuous, inclement outdoor weather for extended periods of time.
