Summary/objective
Supervisors exude the values and culture of Del Road by supporting your assigned restaurant. This is an non-exempt (hourly) position that reports directly to the General Manager and indirectly to others in corporate management.

- Review portion control and quantities of food preparation; minimize food, paper (non-food goods) and labor waste; execute accurate inventories on a regular basis.

- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; comply with all safety/sanitary legal regulations; develop and implement disaster plans; maintain security and sprinkler systems; maintain parking lot, walkways and exits.
- Maintain restaurant ambiance by controlling restaurant lights, light dimmers, background music; proper table set up with table tents, sugar caddies, silverware; monitoring proper temperature on thermostat and window doors open/closed; live music setup and maintenance
- Continuing education: Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all cleaning and trash removal.
- Use of rubber gloves or disposable gloves is required when cleaning and/or trash collection.
- Disposable gloves must be discarded after each use.
- Wash hands thoroughly prior to returning to your workstation or other task.
- Rubber gloves must be washed with soap and water after each use and allowed to air dry.

- Report workplace injuries as soon as reasonably responsible, but in no event later than leaving the workplace or within 8 hours.

Work environment
- Primary work environment is Indoors and Graze patio area.
- Secondary work environment when assigned to Piazza or special event is outdoor work for set up, breakdown and guest service responsibilities; temperatures range from 50F-90F with varying weather conditions.
- Noise level can be loud at times due to crowds, order taking and music.
Physical demands
- Lift and/or move up to approximately 40 pounds frequently.
- Walking while lifting up to approximately 40 pounds frequently.
- Bending/stooping/kneeling required – frequently.
- Climbing ladders – occasionally.
- Routine standing & walking for duration of shift (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to work varied hours and days including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Position type and expected hours of work
- Part time to 32 hours/week or more, working shifts as early as 9:00 AM working shifts as late as 11:59pm, on rare occasions due to business demands shifts may extend past 12:01am.
- Schedule work shifts from 4- 8 hours, with occasional meeting/training shifts of 2 hours.
- Due to unexpected business demands overtime (shifts greater than 8 hours) may be required.
- Working hours can be included weekends and holidays.
Travel
- Walking travel when assigned to Piazza; (1 block outside Piazza area) Graze and from Columbia to India streets is required. Minimum trips per shift are estimated @ a minimum of 20 roundtrips for a Piazza service shift. During longer busier volume shifts more roundtrips maybe required for quest orders.
Required education and experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- 2 year experience in full-service restaurant and/or bar establishment.
- Demonstrated sales and service skills, strong interpersonal skills, verbal communication and listening skills. Ability to multi-task, basic math and cash handling experience.
- Must have an aptitude and enthusiasm to learn about all brands and products available to our guest.
Preferred education and experience
- Additional education and guest service experience.
Additional eligibility qualifications
- San Diego Food Handers Card.
- California ABC Responsible Beverage Service Training & Certificate ID #.
- Manager Food Safety Certification
