Delaware North Sportservice is searching for an experienced Lead Steward to join our team at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. - Supervise dishwashers and coordinate breaks.
- Train new and existing associates.
- Handle disciplinary matters.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of chinaware, glassware, and silverware to different locations.
- Ensure clean pots, pans, and other cooking containers and utensils are ready and available when needed.
- Respond to all requests in an efficient and timely manner.
- Maintain coolers, freezers in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Report all maintenance issues to the Executive Steward.
- Keep work area and equipment neat and clean all the time.
- Adhere to and enforce inventory and labor control measures; perform inventory counts as requested.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous experience in a Steward/Dishwasher position required.
- Previous experience in a kitchen supervisory role required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Basic math skills for counting inventory.
- Ability to follow job procedures and supervisor instructions.
- Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to handle or operate dangerous kitchen equipment.
- Standing and walking for entire length of shift.
- Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting
- Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops, and brooms.
- Kitchen environment – noise levels may be moderate-to-high.
- Works frequently in a hot and damp environment.
