What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef position at Della Terra Italian Bistro?
Our company is looking for a talented and experienced Chef to join our team and lead our catering efforts. The ideal candidate has experience in creating and executing menu plans, selecting ingredients and handling food orders, as well as supervising kitchen staff during the preparation of meals. The right candidate will have an eye for detail, an ability to work well under pressure, and be able to handle the manager's responsibilities while he is away on business trips.
ALL FULL TIME EMPLOYEES (32 HOURS A WEEK) are eligible for 100% free healthcare through our UPMC gold plan after 3 months!
We are looking for fun, food passionate, forward thinking line cooks to prepare classic Italian food made with local ingredients along with the set up, breakdown and clean up of the stations before and after service with the other team members. The success of each employee plays a key role in contributing to the growth of Della Terra!
Responsibilities
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, making sauces, pasta and pizza)
- Cook menu items as a team and getting along with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow instructions
- Clean up station and label date food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
