What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Test Engineer position at Delta Solutions & Strategies?
Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support the United States Space Force Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) Test and Evaluation Squadrons (TES) at Schriever SFB in Colorado Springs, CO.
Strong applicants will have experience creating, evaluating, and executing test plans in the areas of developmental testing, operational testing, and live-fire testing. Successful applicants should be adept at breaking complex systems into functional elements and determining test objectives applicable to each. Experience in test and evaluation in mechanical, electromechanical, or electrical/electronic systems in a DoD environment is highly desired.
\n- Assist in the planning, coordination, execution, and reviewing of space systems tests & experiments.
- Provide input into the design, development, and execution of advanced test/experimentation programs and processes to conduct assessment of space systems.
- Review, edit, and improve test engineering documentation to include test plans, Test Information Sheets, Safety Packages, Data Analysis, Management Plans, Technical and Safety Review Board Briefs, Test Readiness Briefs, Test Cards, and Test/Analysis Reports, as required.
- Review analysis on pre-test predictions, including those obtained through M&S, to design test events and profiles, define data collection requirements, and develop go/no-go criteria to meet test objectives.
- Collaborate with and support the test teams and products produced following their reviews of systems, sub-systems, and components to ensure the data management and analysis plan (DMAP) provides proper data collection for real-time and post-mission data processing, evaluation, and analysis to meet test/experimentation objectives.
- Review, improve, and support test teams with their data analysis requests, providing input regarding their requests for process data, data quality control reviews and anomaly resolutions, and their data analysis as per the data analysis plan.
- Evaluate and review simulation efforts to predict or evaluate system effectiveness or suitability under relevant operational conditions and scenarios.
- Provide oversight and assist test teams to ensure pre-test, during-test, and post-test execution activities, schedules, and resources are identified and available to meet customer specifications and performance expectations.
- Develop and maintain summary information capturing all major test and evaluation activities and resource requirements across STARCOM T&E portfolio,
- Identify and deconflict scheduling and resourcing concerns, where necessary
- Review and improve Test Reports/Presentations.
- Bachelor's (B.S. or B.A) degree in engineering, or related field
- Expert knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in test engineering
- 10 years of relevant experience, including:
- Executing test, including involvement in a test control room executing active/direct test control
- Testing multi-phenomology/multi-disciplinary systems with different payloads/pods/subsystems
- Developmental Test/Integrated Test
- Strategic test planning and resourcing
- Writing/developing TEMPs.
- Writing/developing test plans/procedures and test reports.
- Experience participating in Technical/Safety Review Boards and Test Readiness Reviews
- Experience with Verification, Validation, and Accreditation of Modeling and Simulation Tools
- MS Office/Excel proficiency
- Technical Writing proficiency
- An active TS/SCI clearance
- 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role related to test and evaluation in mechanical, electromechanical, or electrical/electronic systems in a DoD environment.
- DAU Test Practitioner Certification or similar Industry Equivalent
- Experience working on developing EW or Directed Energy mitigation techniques/survivability measures (such as jamming protection techniques)
- Experience with space systems and orbital concepts
- Experience with testing Command and Control Systems and “Enterprise Testing”
- Experience with Rapid Capability Acquisitions
- Experience developing/executing test campaigns for “experimental”, “limited production”, or “one-of-a-kind system”.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
- Experience working with SCI and SAP programs.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $100,000-$115,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
