Position Summary:
Provide world class customer service via telephone and in person to all clients of the firm by proactively contacting clients and ensuring their property damage claims (auto) are handled expeditiously. Look for potential Diminished Value recovery and prepare and negotiate DV demands.
Essential Functions:
- Advise clients of possible problems with insurance companies and vehicle storage facilities
- Document all conversations with clients, adjusters, body shops, etc. in Litify
- Negotiate property damage claims including storage, rentals, total losses, actual cash value, loss of use, and diminished value.
- Research vehicle values
- Respond to clients and work with insurance companies to obtain the best result for client’s PD claim
- Prepare required paperwork and obtain appropriate signatures
- Scan PD letters, titles, estimates, receipts for miscellaneous PD items and finalized PD paperwork and document according to firm protocol
- File PD paperwork as needed, according to firm procedure in client’s hard file
- Notarize documents as needed and meet with clients regarding property damage claims
- Assist Intake department with evaluating whether property damage meets criteria
Nonessential Functions:
- Assist with new client sign-up appointments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to “sell” benefits of representation
- Extensive understanding of auto insurance claims and coverages
- Strong customer service skills and ability & desire to work with people
- Strong sense of urgency
- Professional demeanor
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle high volume of phone calls
- Good listening skills and compassion
- Ability to diffuse, recognize, and offer problem resolution to irate clients
- Ability to change strategy and seek multiple recovery options
- Ability to maintain focus and have several ongoing projects
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume practice
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred
- Five years’ experience with auto insurance claims
- Experience with Litify Software a plus
