Overview:
The Democratic National Committee is seeking an User Success Analyst to support the Biden campaign and Democrats up and down the ballot by enhancing the effectiveness of our analytics tooling across the team. This role focuses on developing training content and sessions to maximize the value derived from analytics tools. The role also includes managing tool permissions, ensuring compliance with campaign data protection policies, and handling user inquiries. We are looking for folks with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.
This position reports to the Analytics Training Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging training materials on best practices for data tool usage. Possible topics include providing an overview of datasets available or teaching users to build their first dbt model
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to collect information for training materials. For example, work with the engineering team to develop training materials on optimizing BigQuery query performance
- Manage permissions and access to data and tools. Enforce relevant campaign policies for security best practices, such as ensuring all users login using multi-factor authentication
- Collaborate with IT and data teams to identify potential security risks and implement effective preventative measures, such as restricting access to sensitive datasets
- Participate in support rotations to address user inquiries promptly and ensure smooth operation across both campaign HQ and battleground states. For example, helping a new user who’s encountered an error get unblocked and build their first BI-style report
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year work experience in data security management or user success roles, preferably within a political campaign, startup, or a fast-paced environment
- Strong capability in creating and delivering engaging and educational content - written and presentations
- Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them clearly to others. Not afraid to ask questions of other experts in service of creating documentation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at managing multiple priorities
- Outstanding teamwork and communication abilities, experienced in working cross-functionally to enhance user experience and security
- Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and methodologies
Additional Useful Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in educational or training roles, particularly those focused on technical or security-related subjects
- Experience implementing or managing role-based access control systems, particularly within complex data environments or for a large user base
- Experience volunteering or working in political campaigns
The starting salary for this position is $70,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position that may require work on weekends. This is an exempt position. This role is not BU eligible as it will exist for less than 6 months.
