Job Description – Environmental Manager, Facility Compliance - Northeast Region
Position type and expected hours of work: Full time position, typically 8am to 5pm, with an hour lunch break. Additional hours may be necessary.
Summary: The Environmental Manager of Facility Compliance is responsible for the environmental compliance program for Denali owned, leased, and operated facilities. The environmental compliance program works in partnership with facility and hauling operations to maintain Denali’s environmental goals and objectives, particularly with respect to repurposing organic waste to replenish the earth.
Essential functions:
Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Proactive:
- Provide onsite environmental guidance to operations. o Prepare reports to enforcement agencies and others. o Focus on stormwater, SPCC, air emissions. o Entitlement conditions compliance review and assistance (permits, leases, contracts etc.) o Annual mandated environmental training o Fire prevention
- Permit updates/minor modifications
- P&P / SOPs o Regulatory certainty
- 3rd Party Outlet environmental audits
- Fee Payment o OMS Management

Reactive:
- NOV / Enforcement proceeding response.
- Reportable incidences o Cleanup Management o Corrective actions o Regulatory driven changes
Competency: Skilled in environmental compliance and ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements. Strong communicator and partner to operations personnel. Professionalism internally and externally and ability to work with regulators and enforcement agency personnel to resolve conflict and compliance matters.
Work environment: In the field, cold or hot climates. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, or overwhelming odors.
Physical demands: The position primarily requires sitting, typing and viewing a computer. Other less frequent physical demands include bending and lifting.
Travel: Travel is expected with this position approximately 30% on average annually
Preferred education and experience: Bachelor’s in environmental management, compliance, or similar discipline, or 5 years minimum experience in environmental compliance and program management.

Pay: Salary, $60,000-65,000/yr, based on experience
