What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Dennis Yacht Club?
Safety is our primary goal with respect to all activities at our club. Your role is a critical element in maintaining a safe and orderly environment. You will have the authority and responsibilities typically associated with the position of Lifeguard including ensuring that all beach goers adhere to club rules regarding behavior on the beach, and in the swimming area and on the docks. You also will be responsible for ensuring that the waterfront remains clean of trash, including emptying the trash can at the end of your day. You will also remind members and their children to not gather on docks, gangways, or piers. Closer to the club's opening, you will receive a DYC directory, listing members names and the Club's House Rules, for your review.
The DYC is a family environment and you are a role model for our kids and so we expect you to conduct yourself accordingly. We have a "zero-tolerance" policy towards drugs, alcohol and smoking on premises. We expect that you will arrive on time and ready for work each day. If you become sick, or exhibit any COVID symptoms, and are unable to serve on any particular day you should notify me as soon as possible. In addition, in the event of inclement weather, you and I will coordinate whether you report to work for the day, depart early, or arrive later.
