Child Development Center - Classroom Floater - Full-time, M-F

Job Title: Floater Wage/Hour Status: Non - Exempt

Reports to: District Child Care Coordinator Pay Grade: 1

Dept./School: Child Care Center NCLB: Non-instructional

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Works with children ages 6 months to 3 years old as part of the Fred Moore Day Nursery School team. Assist in providing a high level of child care through providing a safe, healthy and nurturing environment through social, emotional and cognitive learning experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

Minimum age of 18 years
High School diploma or equivalent
High moral character and integrity
Must pass district health standards for position

REQUIRED - Minimum 2 years experience in licensed child care center

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Prefer college credit in child development, education or related field
Knowledge of working with children including growth and development and developmentally appropriate practices of children ages birth to six years
Ability to communicate with children, parents, center staff, and the general public
Ability to learn to recognize signs and symptoms of child abuse.
Ability to learn First Aid and CPR with ability to administer when necessary

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Maintains flexibility in assisting in any classroom, as needed or assigned.
• Supports teaching team in the implementation of a developmentally appropriate daily curriculum.
• Foster social, emotional, physical and cognitive learning experiences through intentional engagement with all children.
• Assists in supervising the children and participates in group activities.
• Helps to maintain accurate records, including; attendance records, anecdotal records, incident reports.
• Helps to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Communicates with Lead Teacher and Director in a timely manner all behavioral problems and incidents.
• Develops reciprocal relationships with children's families through daily communication, classroom gatherings and center wide social events.
• Helps in maintaining a clean facility by cleaning area of responsibility before, during and at the end of the day according to prescribed cleaning regimen.
• Complies with all Minimum Standards and program polices and procedures.
• Performs all other duties as may be necessary or assigned by supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
