We are looking for a highly engaging and motivated individual with experience in driving sales for hotels or resorts to join our team as a Sales Manager. This role is a key position that will be responsible proactively soliciting room revenue and increasing production of existing special corporate/preferred accounts. Actively up-sells to maximize revenue opportunities. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery. Responsible for driving customer & guest loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer/guest experience. Provides service to customers to continue to grow the account. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales goals, be creative, a problem solver, has a proven record of being a team player, is open to learning and leading by example, responds in a professional and courteous manner to guests and team. How this role helps us to live our six values: Service: You will engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well Prepare and execute sales contracts, event orders, group resumes to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction Coordinate all function details with clients to include but not limited to space requirements, meeting times, equipment, menus, billing, etc You will navigate clients through the sales process including qualifying, negotiating, closing and detailing group and/or catering leads Perseverance: You will develop your knowledge and skills continuously to learn new and effective sales techniques You will develop and nurture long-term relationships with clients to become a key advisor to them for booking meetings and events Inclusion: You will be committed to the equitable treatment of all associates Respect: You will value everyone’s contribution to the team, and we will value your contribution as a key part of our success Innovation: You will be creative in how you solicit, negotiate, and confirm new and repeat business You will develop and complete monthly SMART plan documenting measurable goals and action plans to ensure access Teamwork: You will work as a team to accomplish the goal of resort/hotel You will help maintain a file and trace system to ensure all sales call activity is defined, traced, and updated in an organized manner You will be open to any and all other work as needed to help accomplish the goal of the hotel/resort What do we look for in someone to be successful in this role? 1-2 years of experience in Event Services, Banquet, Hotel Sales, Marketing or equivalent education and experience High School Diploma or Equivalent or 2 years of college or 2 years in a sales& marketing, front office, or other supervisory position Proficient in Microsoft Office Experience with Delphi, FDC, and/or Marriott CI/TY Excellent written and oral communication skills Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
