POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social impact. The Manage of Membership Sales intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture and promotes exceptional customer experience. The Manager of Membership Sales builds lasting relationships with prospective and current members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Initiates and sells memberships in a consultative manner.
- Meets sales goals and generates leads through prospect, networking, and member and program referrals.
- Promotes program and membership enrollment with potential members.
- Provides quality tours to prospective members while maintaining a closing percentage of 75% or higher.
- Convert program participants and other nonmembers into members.
- Proactively seek new opportunities and strategies to increase leads.
- Lead and participate in lead generating activities i.e. outbound calls, external and internal promotional events. Maintain daily call and appointment goals set by Sales Director.
- Achieves and exceeds monthly sales and retention goals.
- Assist in the maintenance and accuracy of member records.
- Contribute and implement innovative ideas to improve membership operations.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating special events.
- Maintain professional and clean environment in member services areas and throughout the entire center as needed.
- Participate and support fundraising activities.
- Manage and assist with inbound & outbound prospect and customer calls.
- Scheduling Discover You appointments at point of sale with a goal of at least 50%.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree preferred, high school graduate or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of sales and customer service experience required
- Demonstrated computer knowledge and efficient data entry skills
- Able to analyze and problem solve and work independently
- Ability to address difficult member situations/conflicts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast pace environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds and at all socioeconomic levels
- Must demonstrate a strong desire to serve others and give back to our community
- A professional, goal driven, self-motivated leader with a positive attitude
- Strong work ethic, punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required. If not certified must achieve with 30 days of hire.
