The Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) seeks to employ career-oriented candidates and offers employment opportunities in a wide variety of challenging occupations. What you will be doing
Your job is to keep the behavioral health office ticking. You will perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to keep the rest of the team on track like pulling medical files, responding to records requests, and coordinating onboarding of new staff. You will stand beside our managers and mental health professionals so that we can provide the best care possible and carry out the mission of the Oregon Department of Corrections.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An Associate's degree; OR
Graduation from a private school of business with a certificate AND one year of general clerical experience.
Requested Skills:
- Working with HIPPA protected documents
- Scheduling in a medical setting
- Maintaining and filling paper medical charts
- Responding to record requests
- Coordinating telemedicine conferencing
- Creating and maintaining Excel Spreadsheets to track data
- Navigating command line computer systems or similar programs to review and enter information
Preference may be given to applicants who are or have previously been LEDS certified.

Working Conditions
Working in a medium security male correctional facility including regular contact with adults in custody (AIC).
Bending, lifting, and twisting. Maintaining, retrieving, and replacing paper medical files.
Requirements for Employment
You must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following convictions are likely to result in being disqualified for this position: felony convictions, computer theft, identify theft and fraud. CJIS clearance is done at the conditional job offer.
The State of Oregon requires all executive branch employees to complete their COVID-19 vaccination series or have an approved exception to the requirement due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief. The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range.
