What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Technician position at Deployed Services, LLC?
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician is responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting all project safety, accident, and fire protection programs for the Company. Analyze needs and determine specifications for protective safety equipment, materials, and gear. Directs surveillance inspections and controls hazardous working conditions or unsafe employee activities. Ensures required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted in accordance with established Company procedures.
Essential Functions:
Manages EHS compliance issues for the Operations division to maintain the safety and health of field personnel- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal EHS standards, and compliance with all company policies
- Monitor facilities and processes for adherence to OSHA/EPA guidelines and the elimination of incidents
- Investigates all safety incidents, near misses, workers’ compensation issues and property damage
- Performs in-house training regarding site EHS and EHS-related regulations
- Writes site-specific health and safety plans and job specific JSA’s
- Performs site safety audits on a regular basis
- Assists field personnel in complying with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to safety.
- Conducts new hire EHS orientations and on-boarding.
- Proactively seeks new ways to improve overall safety performance and employee well-being in the field.
- Assists management in generating new policies and/or procedures related to safety
- Communicates clearly and interactively with the workforce
- Develops and maintains organizational communications related to Safety
- Monitors spending against the departmental budget
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
- Identify trends that could affect objectives and/or operational resources; advise accordingly
- Works effectively as a team member, team leader and with all members of the organization
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have basic knowledge of computer operations
- Intermediate level or above in MS Office Suite products
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Must be able to make on the spot decisions regarding safety practices, and system operational functions
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent- 1 Year Experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- First Aid Certified
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle record check and a criminal background check
