What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispensary technician position at Derick Dermatology?
Position Purpose
Manages day-to-day execution of pharmacy tasks, including evaluating, preparing, and packaging of medication.
Responsibilities :
- Evaluates and executes new and refill prescription orders and appropriate substitutions, according to formulary.
- Operates WinPharm pharmacy software and systems to label and provide medication to patients.
- Adjudicates insurance claims.
- Conducts point-of-sale operation.
- Demonstrates inventory awareness and management.
- Masters prior authorization management and resolution.
- Handles customer service cases successfully.
- Provides answers to patients’ questions about medications, the practice, etc.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Professional Certification (DD provides reimbursement) :
- Illinois Pharmacy Technician License required within 30 days of hire date, if not already obtained
- Pharmacy Technician Certification required within 150 days of hire date, if not already obtained
Additional Notes
- Ability to travel to other locations in the zone as needed.
- Schedule consists of 3 days of 12-hour shifts / week from 6 : 45AM-7 : 15PM and 1 Saturday / month from 6 : 45AM-12 : 30PM
