Communications Program Manager
Summary of Position:
This position is responsible for assisting in the planning and consistent implementation of Foundation’s marketing/communication activities that strategically communicate/promote the importance of the Foundation’s mission to a broad audience. This includes developing targeted communication plans, conducting data collection and analysis projects, developing written materials/press releases and coordinating deliverables with vendors. This position also assists the Deputy Executive Director (DED) and Executive Director (ED), as needed, in the development and implementation of new communication programs/program elements that support the promotion of the DF’s work to a broad audience.
Qualifications:
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- A minimum of five years of related professional work experience in a fast-paced/service-oriented environment
- 3-5 years communications experience
- Understanding of digital marketing concepts and has the ability to implement and manage social media presence/website
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
- Some work experience in a non-profit organization or academic setting is preferred
- Strong project management skills/experience
- Exceptional technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly professional demeanor and the ability to work with top level individuals
- Ability to work independently
Responsibilities:
- Develops & maintains a communication calendar for the Foundation.
- Develops & maintains DF style guide for communications
- Assist in the DED in the management of Dermatology Focus
- Reviews, edits & maintains calendar for updates to DF website to ensure updates are timely, in keeping with the DF style guide and are grammatically correct
- Plans and creates DF E-Newsletter
- Develops an annual social media plan & maintains DF presence
- Develops Annual Report
- Assists Executive Director & Deputy Executive Director on all communication-related projects, including corporate proposals, special Board reports, etc.
- Tracks & monitors corporate recognition benefits
- Assists the DED & ED in review of keyboard or committee documents to ensure they are of the highest quality possible
- Develops & manages all DF event presentations & speeches (e.g., Annual meeting presidential address, CS presidential address, Board presidential address)
