Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a Financial Decision Support Analyst.
Job Summary:
The primary function of this position is to perform financial analysis, make accounting entries and maintain balances to ensure that transactions are properly recorded and comply with the rules and regulations set forth by the Department of Education and other regulatory agencies and is in support of the district’s mission. This position will also be responsible for identifying and communicating programmatic and systematic inefficiencies to the CFO, Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, and Controller, and assist in improving those areas in a timely and effective manner. In addition, a significant portion of the position will involve various forms of systematic implementation throughout the district to effectively interface with the district’s Enterprise Resource Planning System and budget software. This position requires continuous use of independent judgment and should be able to work proactively with minimum supervision. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the business and finance department.
Successful candidates for this position will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
A minimum of three years of accounting related experience (governmental accounting preferred).
Highly Qualified candidates for this position will possess:
Certified Public Accountant in good standing.
Master’s Degree of Accountancy, Finance, or Information Systems.?

Salary Range for this position:
$67,954 - $81,245.00
This represents the minimum to mid-point of the salary range. Candidates offered employment will be compensated based on skills, work experience and education.
