Facilities Engineer Assistant

Desert Evolution is a premium vertically integrated cannabis company obsessed with quality and wellness and we are seeking a Facilities Engineer Assistant for our Las Vegas, NV location. Candidates must have or be willing to obtain their Nevada Cannabis Agent Card.

We are seeking a highly skilled Facility Engineer to join our team at a state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation facility. The Facility Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and improvement of facility systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in facility management, mechanical systems, and a strong understanding of industry regulations and best practices.

Position Summary:

The position reports to the Facilities Engineer. The position requires that all related functions be performed to the highest standard of quality and compliance. Shifts for the position are from 7am-3:30pm PST, occasional weekends may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, electrical, irrigation, and climate control systems.
• Monitor and optimize facility systems to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and compliance with industry and OSHA standards.
• Plan, execute, and manage facility projects, including upgrades, renovations, and new installations.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ensure all systems and processes comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to cannabis cultivation, including safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtown and disruption to operations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system performance, and facility modifications. Prepare reports and documentation as needed.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and training programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facility engineering or maintenance, preferably in a regulated industry such as cannabis cultivation or pharmaceuticals.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards related to cannabis cultivation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Physical Requirements:

• Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Occasional exposure to loud machines (ear protection provided) and bright lights (eye protection provided).
• Occasional weekend or extended hours may be necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
