Destination PSP is a fast-growing, high energy retail establishment in the heart of Palm Springs. We primarily design and produce all of our own items (apparel, home goods, decor, souvenirs) with an upscale, distinctively mid-century modern vibe. We also partner with numerous area special events and organizations to create and carry merchandise which promotes and benefits those organizations. In addition we have a specially curated collection of swimwear, books, art and locally produced items. Together we have created a retail experience that celebrates the Palm Springs Lifestyle.
We are looking for highly motivated, experienced salespeople to work in our store. An appreciation of midcentury modern design and a love of selling are a must. Candidate should be outgoing, responsible, friendly, hard working and well spoken.
It's a busy but fun environment with new products and projects happening every week. We are looking for people to work 20 - 30 hours per week. The store is open every day from 9 am to 6 pm (9 am to 8 pm Friday through Sunday, 9 am to 10 pm Thursday). While there is some flexibility in scheduling, we require people who are available evenings and weekends.
We are looking for someone to work 20-30 hours per week; however, this position could grow to full time
Focus of this position is to sell product and services to customers and continually meet sales goals, providing excellent customer service and follow-up, and have a clear and detailed understanding of company philosophy and knowledge of product offerings. A positive, courteous, service oriented attitude and neat professional appearance are required as this position effectively represents the face of the company.

Responsibilities:
- Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints
- Ensure organization and cleanliness of store
- Learn about, review and be able to present new product lines and offerings
- Maintain neat, professional appearance and demeanor.
- Greet and engage enthusiastically with customers.
Explain and promote company philosophy.
Explain and promote non-profit partnerships.
Continuously maintain thorough and complete knowledge of product.
All Sales associates and supervisors are also responsible for ensuring the proper presentation of merchandise and keeping a tidy and clean establishment
Other responsibilities include inventory counts, processing (folding, tagging, boxing)
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or other related fields
- Strong understanding of computers and technology.
- Ability to build rapport with customers
- Detail-oriented
- Must be able to do light lifting, climb stairs, and be on your feet for several hours at a time
- Proficient in basic computer programs (word, excel) and ability to quickly learn POS and inventory systems. We currently use Square POS, Brightpearl for Inventory Management and Shopify for online.
- Prior experience with Square and/or Brightpearl a plus
- Fluent in English. Fluency in Spanish or other languages a plus
- Dependable, On time, performance is required
