Overview
The Change Management Specialist will support our international development clients in designing and implementing strategies to assist client staff in keeping pace with the fast-changing environment around data, technologies used to manage and analyze data, and the best use of data and information for decision making in international development. The Change Management Specialist will coordinate activities between training and communications teams to position them to best help clients build capacity and awareness around the use of data and information for decision making. The Change Management Specialist should be knowledgeable of best practices in the field and have the capacity to proactively guide change management efforts.
This position’s place of performance is Washington D.C. with the options for generous U.S. based telework or remote work.
Responsibilities
- Conduct change assessments and analyses to identify the scope, objectives, risks, and opportunities of change initiatives;
- Develop and implement change plans that include activities, timelines, resources, and metrics for measuring outcomes;
- Create and deliver change communications and training materials; facilitate and manage change events and workshops; monitor and evaluate progress;
- Work with training teams to analyze, research, and develop content and curricula for classroom and eLearning training to address the core needs of clients as they manage their humanitarian and development data.
- Work with communications teams to best target and reach intended audiences, build awareness around the use of data and information for decision making and foster adoption of available resources and best practices.
- Create and catalyze virtual communities and communities of practice to support, raise awareness around, and advocate for high quality data management, data sharing, and utilization.
- Liaise and partner with a variety of teams to stay abreast of data needs, in-demand skills and competencies.
- May be asked to lead and supervise staff training and communications staff
Qualifications
- Minimum of a BA/BS in a relevant field from an accredited college or university required; MA preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity and experience with change management approaches and best practices;
- Familiarity with approaches to the management, curation and analysis of data preferred but not required
- Experience with USAID preferred but not required
- Knowledge of and interest in international development and related fields.
- Excellent writing and communications skills (written and verbal) and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while still meeting deadlines.
- Ability to synthesize and effectively communicate complex and technical information.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
The applicant must have a U.S. citizenship to qualify for the required U.S. government security clearance for this project. (Dual nationality or additional citizenships will not disqualify applicants.)
